Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1:  IN Sarasota
9:00am -6:00pm Saturday, 8:00-4:00 Sunday
Sensory/Movement Awareness  -- The Missing Link -- for post operative therapy after a knee or hip replacement.
(15 Ceus -approved FPTA )
Shift Brain Patterns that drive action.
Facilitated by:  Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioners, Assistant Trainers -
Osa Jackson Schulte, PT, Ph.D., and Bonnie Kissam, M.A., LMT.

This course will enable participants to provide new levels of function and pain control
in post operative rehabilitation after knee and hip replacements.

Learn to use concepts of The Feldenkrais Method® to:
• Customize hip/knee protocols for the unique needs of each patient
• Facilitate functional weight shift patterns for improved balance and strength
• Adapt environmental ergonomics to support skeletal weight bearing during ADL/IADL
• Create cost effective treatment & customer satisfaction  The Feldenkrais Method® uses specific movement experiences and heightened attention to expand an
individual’s movement repertoire and refine movement abilities. Patient engagement in the learning process, will allow an increase in confidence and self determination for lifelong learning. Another positive outcome is to support patient involvement in their own recovery. This approach allows a new level of precision in physical therapy intervention with patients who have multiple diagnoses

“Acute trauma causes extensive damage to proprioception which is not restored by rehabilitation alone…….. After reconstruction of the ACL reduced proprioception may explain the poor functional outcome in some patients, despite restoration of mechanical stability.”
